Compare Credit Cards - Debt Collectors Can Annoy You!
Almost all careless credit consumers who have once experienced to bear the burden of credit card debt know how rough it is to be pursued by debt collectors. They are in the habit of calling in at your house, phoning you incessantly and are always at your back to make you pay all your bills. Debt collection agents are aimed at having you wipe off your credit card debt tooth-and-nail.
At times their methods of making you pay off are not legal. Therefore, as a rightful credit consumer, though a debtor, you must be aware of your rights and the ways to defend them. The only thing you must do to achieve this is to be one jump ahead of the credit card debt collector.
You may wonder how you can resist the attacks of the collectors. The most effective way is to be aware of their thoughts. However, before that, be sure that you cannot manage your debt on your own and your credit card company does not intend to make concessions.
Actually, it is possible to negotiate with the credit card company before it passes your debt to the debt collection agencies. As a matter of fact, it's more profitable for the lender to cut the interest rate on your credit card deals as they are more likely in this case to take the money back.
If the negotiation ends in failure, be prepared to deal with the debt collector. The most wide-spread method of the debt collectors is annoying you by the phone or coming straightly to your house. They usually intimidate you with a lawsuit or with the deprivation of your property.
This method is not at all legal and in return you can also go to law. However, debt collectors realize their errors and betake themselves to more sophisticated strategies to urge you to pay off your credit card debts.
That's why they quit threatening the debtors and start collecting their private data. As soon as they get all the information they need, they make up a plan and phone the debtor.
In this case their aim is the workplace of the debtor and his or her work phone. Now their target is the debtor's place of work, to be more exact - the work phone. Harassing the debtor in such manner is the most effective method used by the collectors.
They introduce themselves as the debtor's acquaintances and take pains to fish out all the necessary information, such as the location and the name of the company the debtor works at.
The debt collectors are in the habit of communicating with the debtor's friends, relatives or colleagues. They know how to prepossess people in their favor and easily get all the necessary and extra data they need.
No doubt, this method is both severe and effective. Using it, debt collectors are most likely to get you. Therefore, if you become a debtor, be on your guard, know your rights but take pains to get rid of your debt as soon as possible. Remember, being a victim of credit card debt collectors is no picnic!
