Apply Online for a Credit Card and Qualify for Cash Advances - Wasn't That Easy?

Credit cards, when handled correctly, can be a valuable asset is one's life. When you need to buy something that costs more than what you can pay for at the time, you can use your credit card to purchase the item and pay back the credit card company gradually. When you travel, credit cards are so widely used; it may come in handy more than once when you find yourself without cash or checks. More recently, credit cards have been the method of choice to pay for items online, giving the online business world a hefty boom.

However, the fact that your credit card is presently sitting in your wallet, ready to be used at any and all times is exactly what gives it such great appeal. If you do not have the cash now, you might have it later, which means you can buy now and pay later. The possibilities credit cards offer (especially now with rewards cards) are their appeal and often the downfall of many people into the development of a bad credit history.

Now, no matter how you obtain your credit card, either by filling out a form in the mail or applying online for a credit card, you have options of getting instant cash. You can use your credit card like an ATM card, or using the check-like forms your credit card company may send you along with your billing statement. People all over are seeing the possibilities instant cash provides and are leaving banks and credit unions behind when it comes to borrowing certain amounts of money. Naturally, credit card companies make it increasingly easy for you to obtain a credit card (you can even apply for a credit card with no credit at all) and are more than willing to dish out that cash advance.

With any credit card deal, there is going to be some kind of catch, and that catch is usually tucked away in the fine print, something a lot of people do not like to read even though they know they should. Cash advances usually require you to pay higher rates, though you may not always know what that rate will be. What you should do it search for credit cards that offer you the best rates and tell you what the cash advance rates are. Applying for credit cards is exactly like shopping for anything else; you should know as much as you can about the product before investing in it and any services it provides you with.

Getting that cash is not free, and if you do not want to pay any further extra amount, you will have to pay it back as quickly as you can. When you borrow money to pay for that sweater, you keep the sweater and pay back the money. The same concept applies to a cash advance; you borrow that money to pay for groceries or other things, but you have to pay that money back at some point. If you do not pay off the amount quickly, you will find extra percentage amounts getting tacked on. Still, you may be thinking, "That's fine. I can pay that back in my next bill." However, if you already have a balance on your card, and you now owe $200 for the cash advance, you cannot simply write a check for $200 and expect it to go toward that cash advance. That will be the last thing you pay off; your initial balance comes first. This is something many credit card companies neglect to tell you right to your face, no matter if you apply for a credit card online or through the mail. You will have to be the one to read the fine print. This is how the company is more likely to make gains from cash advances, because while you try to pay off your balance in order to get to the cash advance, it sits there building up extra charges you must pay as well. If you have a large balance and have now added on a cash advance to it, you may find yourself paying much more than you originally planned to, something a lot of people neglect to find out in the first place when they apply for credit cards.

Before you get too excited and think that cash advances could solve all your problems, consider whether or not you truly need cash advance. Do you have enough funds to cover those expenses on your own? Is there anything wrong with using your credit card the way it is instead of opting for a cash advance? Why do you feel you need the cash advance in the first place? Whether or not you get cash advance could be your fine line between staying on top of your credit card balance and falling into debt. You do not want one brief cash advance to transform all your hard work into a bad credit history. However, if you still really want to obtain a cash advance, take a long look at your present credit card bill. Do you have a balance? If you pay off your balance in full each month and can easily repay the cash advance and would like to get one, then more than likely you will be in safer territory in doing so, able to keep from getting hit with extra charges.

A cash advance may help you manage your finances better, but it may also dip your credit history down if you are unable to handle the responsibility. In many cases it may be better to remain safe than sorry. You will be the final judge on whether or not you should get a cash advance, but remember, if you have any questions, you can always call your credit card's customer service number for more information.
