Most celebrities after making a carrier in one field - in acting, singing, modeling or just being a socialite, go for another activity trying to ensure their reputation and fame. You will hardly find a super star that is engaged only in acting, or only going on world tours giving concerts. Most of them "I am an actress, model, fashion designer, restaurant-chain owner, writer, charity organization founder..."

Celebrities launch their own clothing and perfume lines, handbag collections and jewelry. They even got to the credit card industry. However, the idea of introducing celebrity-brand credit products turned out to be not so successful as it was expected.

Most unique credit card offers from stars failed. They just did not meet their fans' and other people's requirements. What went wrong? Why most credit cards from the rich and famous were turned down even by the celebrities' admirers?

The US credit card market does not abound with card offers from stars at all. The popularity of credit deals launched by celebrities can hardly be compared with the popularity of celebrities themselves. But still you can find a few of both, credit and debit cards. Among those offers customer can apply for point rewards credit cards, prepaid cards and some others.

The fans of old-school rock have a chance to express their devotion to the legendary rock icon KISS through applying for the KISS Visa card. This offer enables its owners to get discounts on eligible merchandise and news updates from the band. Besides, this is a low APR credit card, which is a pretty uncommon feature for a rewards card.

The Baywatch lovers and fans of other Carmen Electra characters can get the Carmen Electra prepaid MasterCard. There are also such offers on the market as the Johnny Cash prepaid MasterCard, the Elvis Visa card. But younger celebs also try not to fall behind. Some time ago, Usher, a popular R'n'B singer and dancer, introduced a prepaid card in his name. However, the offer did not get to win the hearts of his fans and now you can find just 2 limited edition Visa gift cards.

Another America sweetheart that has started as a child star on Disney shows, Hillary Duff also tried to become a teen prepaid card provider. A couple years later after her collaboration with Visa credit card company, which resulted in launch of her brand Hillary Duff Visa cards, the products just stopped being issued. As well as the deals from Hulk Hogan, Bill Goldberg and Sting.

So, what is the reason for the celebrities' failures? The answer is on the surface. Money is no object for most rich and famous. Well, not a first rate priority at least. So, when launching a new brand product, more fame, new headlines and covers of magazines, more interest to their personality - that is what they are after. And the profit that their customer will get from using their credit products is not something the stars are concerned about. That is why the offers from Hollywood celebs cannot be called the best credit cards.

Besides, admit that not all stars gained Donald Trump's financial success. By the way, his brand credit card is available to apply online and it comes with pretty good options. Nearly $3 billion net worth is a weighty argument to try his way of spending and earning money.

But would you follow Lindsay Lohan's example, who blew almost all her fortune on parties, alcohol and drugs? I doubt it.

So, even if you are a big fan of some superhot celebrity, think twice before applying for credit cards launched under their brand. Your financial standing is something different than your interest to some publicity person from the cover of magazine. And way much more important.
